You are clearing an estate: we treat bereavement and house clearance situations with the utmost sensitivity and patience

You have high value assets: for particularly valuable collections, the discretion and security of a Home Visit may be preferred.

You have a large collection: our experts can help you sort through everything and take the items away same-day should you sell.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes, whether you are attending a roadshow, organising a home visit or selling to us in-store - getting a competitive cash offer from us is completely free even if you choose not to sell your items.

How long does the valuation take?

Most customers show us a wide range of goods and receive their cash offer in around 15-30 minutes. However, there's no limit on the number of items our buyers are willing to look at, so larger collections or customers with more complex needs will be afforded more time.

How do you decide what my items are worth and what to offer me?

We assess each item in front of you, face-to-face, and make you a realistic and fair cash offer. Your offer is based on a number of moving factors such as material, condition, age, craftsmanship and current market demand.

All of these considerations and how your offer amount has been reached will be explained to you in plain English by our experts

What happens when I accept my offer?

We will collect your information to email and SMS you a digital VAT compliant receipt and you will then be paid immediately via cash or bank transfer.

We will keep your items and take them away that day, and absorb all future risk for finding them a new home.

How and when do I get paid?

After accepting an offer, we will send you a digital VAT complaint receipt as your proof of sale and pay you that same-day.

We often will have cash available to pay you on-the-spot, or a bank transfer will be made (payment will clear by 5pm that day).

In order to be legally compliant and prevent issues with payment (especially via bank transfer) we must collect your contact information at point of sale.

What happens if I am not happy with my offer?

After accepting an offer, we will send you a digital VAT complaint receipt as your proof of sale and pay you that same-day.

We often will have cash available to pay you on-the-spot, or a bank transfer will be made (payment will clear by 5pm that day).

In order to be legally compliant and prevent issues with payment (especially via bank transfer) we must collect your contact information at point of sale.

What should I bring with me to a roadshow?

You should bring along all of the items you are looking to sell that day - there is no limit on how much you can bring or how much time you will be afforded (e.g. it is not unusual to see full jewellery boxes or suitcases of unwanted items).

We recommend bringing your debit card (or a copy of your sort code and account number) in case this is needed for a bank transfer.

We also recommend bringing 1 form of photo ID.

Where do your roadshow events take place?

We hold hundreds of roadshow events across towns and villages in the UK every month - hosted anywhere from local community hubs to large stately homes.

What if I'm not sure whether you will accept my items?

Bring it with you, or contact us to check your items first.

If it’s not something we are able to purchase, we’ll tell you honestly.

There’s no cost and no downside to checking.

Am I better putting my items into an auction?

All of our experts are clued up with UK auctions and are very suitably placed to advise you if we are not the right place to sell your item.

We choose to be very transparent with our pricing which reflects the fact that we are providing a fair same-day solution, immediate payment, and absorbing all of the risk on the future sale of that item.

When auctioning items you are often waiting weeks for your items to sell (with no guarantee that they will), weeks again for payment to clear, and then the buyer and seller will pay fees to the auction house for facilitating the sale.

Even with this in mind - it is not unusual for our offers to exceed the estimates given by auction houses when customers come to us.

However, there are also instances where advising you to auction your item is the right and fair thing to do - our experts never shy away from recommending other selling services. We have very good relationships with auction houses across the UK and are very happy to send business their way.
